Parents grow humans. Whether you are a birth parent, step parent, partner to someone who has kids, our job is to grow them, just like trees, flowers, and giraffes. The ingredients for growing a human include food, water, love, respect and knowledge.
For four and a half years, I was on TV at least monthly, sharing ideas about Early Childhood issues and development. While I know that every child is different, all children need food, water, love, respect and knowledge. The more we focus on establishing strong children, the less correction they will need as adults.
I have two amazing daughters; Franchessca and Victoria and describe our family life as Chaos. Franchessca is the sweetest, most respectful child 90 percent of the time and Victoria is a fireball 90 percent of the time. Victoria’s mantra is “I don’t like people telling me what to do,” but Franchesscca’s is “Positivity takes the cake.”
Its challenging raising two strong willed girls in our world today, but we are growing them to be the best “them” they can be.
